Asian Meat Balls
Prep time: About 20 minutes
Cooking time: 2 1/2 hour
Makes: 4 servings (5 meatballs each)
Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground pork
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup chopped yellow onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 t. sesame oil
- 1 t. grated ginger
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 t. Creole seasoning (Tony Chachere's)
- 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 T. rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 t. grated ginger
- 1 t. Sriracha sauce
Directions -
- Using your hands, mix the first 8 ingredients.
- Form into 1-inch balls and place on a lightly-oiled baking pan.
- Bake 20 minutes in a 400 deg.F oven on a middle rack.
- Mix the remaining 5 ingredients and stir in the baked meatballs to coat.
- Place meatballs and sauce in a crockpot and cook on LOW about 2 hours.
- Serve meatballs as hors d'oeuvres, or with rice or in pho soup.
Freeze extra meatballs, separated on a pan so they don't stick together.
