  1. Heat oil in wok or heavy pan. Brown meat.

  2. Stir in salt, pepper, and thyme and coat meat.

  3. Add rice and water. Cover. Simmer 10 minutes.

  4. Add celery, green onion, and bay leaf. Cover and simmer 10 more minutes.
