Plov (Uzbek pilaf)

Prep time: About 10 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes

Makes: 4 servings



  1. Cut carrot into 3-inch lengths. Then cut them into thin strips.
  2. Heat oil and saute onion 5 minutes. Add carrots and saute 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in spices and saute 2 minutes.
  4. Add rice and broth. Simmer 10 minutes.
  5. Peel outer skin from garlic bulbs and cut them in half.
  6. Add cooked chicken sausage and garlic and simmer 10 minutes.
